05 chevy p/u
my buddy using the U7193 has an 05 chevy p/u with the 5.3 shorty headers with cats, and airaid Throttle body spacer, also being dumb he cut the screen out of the maf sensor! soo im askn for him what kinda of shifting adjustments he should do?? he has messed with some of the shift pressure and shift points but what all should he set them at?? ther was somethn else to adjust but cant remember what it said! anybody got any answers?
RE: 05 chevy p/u
no real absolute setting for the shifting items... it's wherever he likes them at...
if he likes more pressure, then increase it... if he likes it not so much, then decrease it...
if he wants it to hold the gears longer before it shifts, then change the shift points... if he likes it where it is, then leave it alone...
etc etc etc ....
just set that stuff to however he likes the feel of it...
and get a new MAF with the screen back in it!!

My friend ripped my screen out too while I was working on something else. I didn't see it as a huge issue and did nothing about it. Is it really going to matter?

Ok, I'll show my limited knowledge. Why? I do know that it was supposed to reduce turbulent air flow over the sensor, but thats about it. So why is it important and what effects will not having one produce?

RE: 05 chevy p/u
Some people see rough idles, some have no issues.
Personally, there is no screen on my stock 75 mm MAF in my camaro, and although it has developed a rougher idle over the past 50,000 or so miles (lol) it never had an issue with taking off the screen.I think it is a bigger issue on cars with a 90* bend before the MAF...

RE: 05 chevy p/u
Thanks Mike, I'm new to all this and the MonteSS guy seems to be pretty well respected on here so I was a little concerned that I may have to correct the issue. My set up it almost straight until the 90 degree attachment point. MAF is about a foot before that. I guess I won't worry to much about it until I get some info that justifies the time and trouble of putting a screen back in.
