2010 Camaro L99 + U7194 r12 = NO PARAMETER SUPPORT?

Post by Number_9 »

In terms of modifying options to my own tune, AFM and Wheel size are the ones I am most likely to manipulate... and since updating my own Predator to r11... and now r12, I am getting an "error" message when I try to modify any of the individual parameters... basically, I am being told that my combination does not support modifying parameters.

Come on guys, this is what I bought the Predator for!!! No doubt, this is something you will address in an upcoming software release - but when? I was hoping it would work in r11 - no luck. Then I was hoping r12 would do the trick... no luck. What gives?

The AFM (DOD) support *was* there but now appears to have been disabled in the r11 and r12 releases..... please, when can we 2010 Camaro L99 owners receive the functionality you advertise?

Not trying to be nasty, please do not take this message that way, but I am kinda frustrated that I am unable to do some of the things (the very things) that made me decide on purchasing a Predator.

Parameter Support

Number 9, You are probably not going the like this much but... At this point there is no choice but to revert BACK to Predator revision 9r10. This revision will allow you to do adjustments to your parameters. You must return your stock backup program to your vehicle FIRST. Then down load revision 9.r10 back into your tool like you did before with revisions 10 and 11. Then you can download the predator tune back into your car and the tool again will backup your stock program into the tool. You then will be able to modify your stock program OR the Predator program. I'll post the 9r10 revision file for you. I think you will be able to access it from the post. Hope this helps you.

Thanks for sharing the CROM file... but it's a no go before getting started, as the r10 release does not support the latest ECM updates GM has for the Camaro. It'll 'brick' the car and require some major assistance from the Diablo team to get going again... I know, as I survived this with the r11 release and it took a full day for the Diablo team to get me a "fix" in the form of a interim r12 release.

Now that r12 is fully released, I am on the released version... but have no intentions of going backward and "re-bricking" my car. Instead I am waiting (patiently, with patience waning) for Diablo to get things worked out.

It took HP Tuners about 3 weeks... how long will it take Diablo is the question I want answered... come on guys, at least give me a "target date" or something.

OH! I wasn't aware you got reflashed. I know one thing for sure, unless mine quits running, I won't be going near the dealer for any warranty work until it's safe do to so with the necessary predator support available and confirmed functional!

Mike? Vass? Lew? When are we going to see *full* support restored? It took HP Tuners about 3 weeks, so some time is certainly understandable. But, you guys have received enough tunes from 2010 Owners (myself included, and it was a high performance tune that I sent you, from HP Tuners) to have sorted this out by now.

Simple question for DiabloSports to answer: When?

Sending a Hptuners tune as a backup does not work for us to add support...need stock files.

Understood, so count my tune as the one your engineers will be referring to or discarding when they are creating other tunes. I know other stock Camaro tunes have made it your way though.... so, the question begs, what's the ETA that your engineers are providing for completion and production availability?

geez, give it a rest and be a little patient. we ALL know that you want all of the attention immediately. You seem to be so enamored with HP, why don't you return the DS product, and buy the HP suite = PROBLEM SOLVED.

YOU will be happier, and WE won't have to read your pasted posts over and over again.

I'm not saying your frustration isn't justified, but, heading down the path THIS way will CERTAINLY make your issue the highest priority I'm sure.....

Enamored? I merely pointed out HP's ability to react to changes in a matter of weeks. You are reading things between the lines that aren't there. I am happy with my Predator, when it's working as advertised, which is why I bought it... and I am being patient but the patience is waning as the days turn into weeks and the weeks move toward months.

Tired of reading my posts over and over again? Skip reading them. My posts and I are not here to please or appease you.

Yes, and HP writes software, they do NOT make hardware....HUGE difference.

You're right, your posts certainly aren't intended to please anyone, nor should they. I am just suggesting that a slight more mature approach may get you from point A to point B faster---just a thought.

I recognize that there has been some frustration with support on occasion, but, my personal experience has been that DS generally comes thru.

Just to set the record straight, I do not work for them, nor am I an apologist, nor am I on the payroll. ECM and TCMs are very technical devices. When you try to support almost every vehicle on the market, AND, the OEM is making wholesale changes on the fly concurrent with your product development, it gets difficult.

Software is about the easiest thing to chase your tail with. When you have IO capable hardware WITH interface software, that is not that easy.

You may be able to attract more support and assistance with maturity than with post after post "when will it happen". Again, just my $0.05. Then again, I may just be too stupid to help. :D

FWIW, I was just about to purchase this tuner specifically to turn off the AFM on my Camaro. Seeing this problem is not very reassuring. I'm not likely to make the investment until I see a resolution to Number_9's issue.

definitely wait. nobody wants to sell you a predator when you already know that you will not be happy until this issue is resolved. Your best bet is to be patient and wait for the update to come out. AFM has been something they can disable for the trucks and cars for a while. The 2010 camaros are just new and therefore need to be worked on more. The fact that GM is flashing these cars with new software is not making things easy.

do NOT update any 7194 predator to the 9r11 or 9r12 revisions, period!

they are making some big changes to them, and will not work with all 7194 predators...

if it's on 9r08, or 9r10 already, leave it alone... do not try to update to r11 or r12!
