u7194 issues throwing lights, someone please help asap

Post by motox151 »

I sent this to monte to see if he can help but hopefully one of you that work in tech can fix this issue. All I see on this forum is that the u7194 and your revisions have nothing but problems and NONE of you have any responses or fixes, this is totaly unacceptable. Your basically telling us that we have 400 dollar paperweights and we should just "stand by" until you feel like doing something. Here is what is going on with mine.....

Ok, I have a 2007 nbs silverado 2wd 5.3, I have the u7194 I had the 8r10 revision then just recently upgraded to 9r10, I installed the 87 oct tune with dod disabled. After a few miles the abs and brake lights come on( no i did not mess with tire size at all) I called tech and they said I should try this new 9r11 version which wouldnt even load onto my tuner(they said I need to send my predator in to get a free software update or some trash)

He then gave me the 9r07 file and said they didnt have any problems with that version, so I installed the 9r07 and placed the 87 octane tune in my truck, drove a few miles and again the abs and brake lights come on again. The only thing I can use my tuner for is to modify the stock tune(i only shut off the dod) and thats it, anything else throws those lights. The guys at tech said there have been issues with the 07/08 silverado but nobody has any fixes, its getting ridiculous because I see that literally everyone has a problem with the u7194 and none of the guys have any clue how or what to fix. I wuld love some help as I would sure like to use the 400 dollar paperweight I have!

I AS WELL AS MANY OTHERS WOULD SURE AS HELL LOVE TO USE OUR TUNERS NOW, IF NOT PLEASE REFUND ME THE FULL RETAIL PRICE!

I'm having problems as well and haven't gotten a response to my last post for help. With all the update horror stories that I have read, I'm reluctant to update my predator. While not as many problems as you are having, my car seems to idle really rough after being flashed with the performance update.

Just curious, why did you update it? I have an 07 and am still on 8rxx and it works fine. My tuner didn't like the 9rxx updates either. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm with you guys. Gotta product out there, make it work, OR, give what is needed to get it back to the previous state that WAS working.

In THAT spirit:

If you want 8r07, we may have that one available at---matter of fact I am sure we have it.

Sorry to hijack this thread but while I have your attention; I uploaded the 91 octane tune on the '07 vette and it idles rough, like it has a miss. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance,

Dennis

what revision is your predator on now??

idle's usually rough for the first start-up or two after the flashing... but then it should smooth out and be back to normal or better...

grumpy, thanks for the emails...gonna try and run them and see what works!

I updated mine to get the better truck tunes and better mpg as offered from diablo.

Its a shame that the guys at diablo have no clue to whats going on. There are a TON of U7194 problems and they can never give a straight answer. When I call tech all I get is " o thats strange, or that shouldnt do that" or it seems like nobody else ever gets any real help, its always "we are working on it" Im not trying to be a prick but dont you think that if you are selling a high dollar tuner that it should work fine and be able to handle simple software upgrades or adjustments such as changing tire size without screwing up? The last guy I talked to on tech line said I should adjust my axle ratio on my predator, Im sorry but there is NO such option to change your axle ratio!

To be honest its like you just throw the product out there with all this hype and 90% of the time the tuners dont work? Yes my tuner worked with the 8r10 but I should be able to update to the latest software to keep my tuner current, Just like my Iphone i can hook it up to the pc and udate the latest software(the only difference is my iphone can handle the SIMPLE task of updating software)

Sorry for the rant but Im sure Im not the only one who is pissed with the lousy support we get and all of the " we are working on it" responses to try and pacify us until we either give up or sell.

Thanks again for all of your assistance. I will try to reflash again and see what happens. I ran the last flash for a day and it stayed rough throughout.
