u7135 started to update car after downloading updates, got a flash from unit and smoke , now cant download, i have 2 others with no problem this is a new unit right out of the box.

See if the dealer will swap it out. Otherwise you'll have to RMA it.

I'm wondering about quality control lately. We've been hearing about this issue quite a bit in the past 6 or so months, and I'd never heard of it before then. DS employees, Are these assembled by hand or done by machine? Whats changed in the past 6 months to a year? The Trinity was released, but was anything changed in the Predators?

i have 2 others an they work fine, set this one up just like them an a flash then smoke . i didnt know they was having problems with them lately

happened to me back in March. Send the unit back and get a replacement. Do you have an 05 LX? If so use the 9r12 firmware version...not the 9r18 or the 9r20. Only use the later firmware if you have like an 08 LX or newer.

Suxs that it happened, but you vehicle should not be damaged.
