Question for everyone w/ Ford v-10 engines.
I own a 2006 F-350 w/ the 6.0, after having it in the shop for numerous problems that everyone warned me about before i bought it I am considering a trade for a 2009-10 F-250 w/v10. 1st question is does it drone going down the highway? What about fuel mileage? Servicing? and Problem areas? Would YOU by another or not? How many miles are on yours? Do you pull alot? And what do you pull? I'm sorry to ask so many but i've alway's had excellent luck out of the old diesel's but the one's nowday's can't run for the sensors and emmisions problems. Thanks for anybody's input.

I would wait for the 2011 6.2L V8. I spoke with the 6.2 engineer at the SEMA Show and he said the fuel economy went from 12 MPG with the 5.4L to 15 MPG with the 6.2L in an F250. It is a V8, SOHC 16 Valve Engine with Variable Cam Timing. It will make about 400HP and about 430 TQ and have a 6 Speed Automatic behind it standard. And it runs on 87 octane with lower maintenance costs than the diesel or V10. He said they tested it to a 250,000 mile rebuild standard. He said the key words were Simple, Efficient, Dependable, Inexpensive.

Heck yeah. I was wondering when ford was gonna come back into the bigger v-8 game. I guess i will have to wait until then. Maybe they'll come out late in 2010. Thanks for the reply.

yeah, wouldnt want you to waste your money on a truck that was being phased out with a new engine that gets much better expected mileage figures and has comparable power and torque with a long overdue 6 Speed automatic transmission as standard equipment.
