Modify a custom tune....help

Post by steve-04GT »

I had my car dyno tuned with my predator but my speedo was off. I went to modify my tune so I could correct the problem and now my car is in theft mode and will not start. I get an error message that says it cannot read my vehicle (or something like that). I made sure to follow the key on/key off directions correctly since I had this issue before. I guess I have 2 questions then......1. I can modify a tune that was put into my car with my predator...right? and 2. why would my predator keep locking up like that?
Thanks in advance.

Alright....here is some more info. I called my tuner and talked to him about it. I didn't try to install the original back up this time (I just assumed it was AFU just like the last time) but he said to try it anyway and it worked but when it installed my original backup it deleted my custom tune from my predator. Why would it do that?
Now I have the original one in my car but my tuner doesn't have my custom tune in it. My car starts but runs really crappy, which I expected. I am getting my tune e-mailed to me from my tuner and I bought a 9-pin/USB cord to attach the predator to my computer but what else do I need to do as far as software download to my computer to get the tune in my predator?

Download the DSDownloader to send the file to the tool.
I'll email you some instructions.

thanks for the e-mail.

I am having trouble getting my original back up onto my pc. I have an 04 and the instructions say 05+. The baud rate is 115200 in the instructions. Is that going to be the same for an 04? I tried it both ways with no success. I have my com port set with the same baud rate as well and it didn't help any.

why can't I save a copy of the original back up to my pc?

I sent the wrong doc.
I'll send the correct one now.
