SLP diablo for 2005 GTO

Post by Smlltmr »

I bought the SLP custom tuner for my 2005 GTO. I have done lots of upgrades and need a custom tune for my car. Can Diablo write me a specific tune for my car that will elimate the check engine light due to the fact that I do not have cats? I am extremely happy with the tuner so far, just want to know if I can take the tuner that much farther?
Any advice or help would be much appriciated!
Also, I have read on the website that Diablo can do a custom tune tailored to your needs, does that cost extra or is it written specifically for your car?
Thanks in advance!

The SLP 7190 can disable the rear O2 sensors for you.
Make sure the tool is on the most recent revision, 8r04.

What do you have done that would require a custom tune?
The SLP tune is already set up for long tubes.

OK, generally a cam swap will require a custom tune done on the dyno.
Use the 'where to buy' tab above to find a dealer in your area that can tune the car for you.

so buying your product was a waste of money? So let me get this straight: there are no options for me but to get a dyno tune from a shop?

That is not what I am saying, but you have to understand that the Predator is designed to tune stock to mildly modified vehicles, and in the case of the SLP Predators, even more than mildly modified.
The issue here is that most aftermarket cams push you way past the 'mildly modified' range, which means it is time for custom tuning.
Now, I could send you a tune, but it WILL NOT be optimal, because my tuner will have no clue what your current A/F looks like, or how much timing the car will tolerate with whatever octane fuel you use and that cam. This is why tuning most any aftermarket cams requires time on the dyno.

Mike,
How do I adjust the fuel curve on an SLP 455 tune? How do I change from running 93 octane to 91 octane? I think these 2 things will solve my problem. Thank in advance!

The 455 tune is already set up for use with 91 or 93 octane. To adjust the part throttle fuel delivery, you would adjust the injector slope, for WOT you changes the WOT Fuel parameters.

I would suggest before you start tuning that you go over the sticky at the top of this forum about logging and adjusting the tune.
This will help you understand what you are seeing and how to interpret the data and make the appropriate changes.
