Problem with Predator

Post by abqz06 »

I have a Predator, married to my 2007 Z06 Corvette. This morning I tried to monitor data on a friend's 2007 Z06 and after it booted up and as I tried to go to diagnostics, his engine died and would not restart. We tried several times, Predator hooked up and not hooked up. Dead. Would not engage starter. We finally disconnected the battery and after connecting it back, the car acted normal, started and ran fine.

We did not attempt to hook up the Predator again. Now I'm concerned to hook it back up to my car! What should I do?

Did the Predator display any error messages as it tried to communicate with the other car?

Thanks

No error messages. It booted, gave me the choices for tuning, diagnostics, etc. I arrowed down to diagnostics and the car died. After the first attempt to restart failed, I kinda lost interest in the Predator, the broken $75,000 car had my undivided attention!

His car has Onstar. Could it have interfered with the boot process? I know it could if you are attempting to upload/down load a program, but just for monitoring vehicle data?

That should not have been an issue.

If you would like you can have the tool checked out under warranty by filling out the RMA request form in the dowloads page of this website.

I'm confused here.. so you have a Predator married to your Z., and then you connected it to a differiant car? :?: The manual says not to do that correct

You can use the tool to datalog or clear codes on other supported vehicles, but not to tune other vehicles.
