Also, was this just a plug in and done thing or does the Ford computer need to be programmed also?
What exactly is it doing? What are it's specs?
I am having shifting problems and the diagnostic place I took it to said that the computer needs to be replaced with a factory Ford unit so they can get the factory readings. The computer is a factory Ford with this chip in it, so I don't know what to do. Is it the chip that is screwed up or the computer, or both?
The truck is shifting out of first gear way too late the first time it shifts after I start it. After the first shift happens, the overdrive light flashes and it seems to shift ok. It does shift kinda soft, but it shifts.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Please excuse me if any of these questions are dumb ones, the new fang-dangled computer in a car stuff is beyond my expertise...I like em with points and a carbarator
