HELP! Lost with new Predator...

I bought (used) what is supposed to be a U8175 for my 04 LLY. However there is no sticker on the back, and when I go to tune, it says "# UNSUPPORTED VEHICLE". The diagnostics etc work, but I cant tune it.

When I plug it in it says its V6.01, software 1.11, hardware 1.00

Is there anyway to confirm the part number?

The more I read, the more I'm thinking this is for an LB7. I might be totally wrong though. The guy that sold it to me said it was the newest version, for an LLY. From what I read it seems old, and for and LB7. It also has one of these Granatelli Motor Sports stickers on it that I hear not good things about.

granatelli used to private label the predator and sell it under his brand name. That was about 8 years ago, so yeah, that is a really old predator.

The revision number you gave "could" indicate either a U7185 or aU7180. It doesnt really matter. That tool's hardware is very old, has limited space in it, and is not internet updateable.

Thanks for your reply! Does it matter that it has a serial port connection on it? Or is it still really old..? Is it good for anything how it sits? It obviously wont load in my truck. What if I send it back to DS and its for an LB7? I'm so confused. And REALLY pissed off at the guy I bought it from.

So from what I can tell it doesnt matter if its for an LB7 or LLY. If I send it in for a hardware upgrade, you can make it for an LLY. I'm not sure if its VIN locked or not, I dont think so, how do I tell, and if it is, will that cost me more? Like I said before, it says Hardware 1.00, and Software 1.11. v6.01

Can i just send it in for the $99 hardware upgrade to get the newest version for my LLY?

I'm in Canada if that matters.
