I am wondering what benefits you get just using the 87 option verses the 91 or performance and doing custom tuning i read about how to adjust long term fuel trim.

you'll get the most gains with getting a custom tune...

the Performance/91 tune gives more power than the 87 tune...

but all tunes will give you better throttle response, better acceleration, stronger pull, and better mileage...

as you move up higher in the tune listings (87, 91/Performance, Custom), the better those gains will be...

i have heard mixed reviews on the predator that is work and that it causes less power and less fuel mileage?

one thing i need to know is in iowa we have 87 89 91 oct gas
will the mid grade work on the performance tune cause this is the cheapest of the three then 87 and 91 the most expensive

no... if you use the Performance tune, you'll need to use 91 octane gas...

if you only want to use 89 octane, then use the 87 octane tune...

NOTE: The use of respective grade fuel should be used with tune choice.
The 87 octane tune will run fine on 87, 89, 91 and 93 octane. 91 octane tune will run on 87,89 and 91 octane. The 93 octane (Performance) tune will run on 91 and 93 octane.

THis is directly from how to adjust parameters on the u7198 model.

you can run the 81 tune on 87 or 89 octane gas, and part-throttle will be ok... it's when you go WOT that you will have knock issues, because the timing/spark advance is set higher in the 91 tune than it is in the 87 tune - so, you will have to remove/lower the timing/spark advance in the 91 tune if you only use 87 or 89 octane gas.

i believe the custom tune is 100 check the link on 06monteSS's post, but its well worth it man. i was amazed at how much difference it made on my truck. if your wanting a tuner for your truck diablosport would be the way to go you can change a lot more stuff on your own and the custom tune is huge. i tried a superchips first you cant do anything with it, diablosport for sure and the customer service is great thanks to guys like lew.
