Now do i need a Custom Tune?

I have 4.56 gears in it (8' lifted truck on 37' tires, i needed the gears) and I just got an Airaid CAI, and exhaust cutouts (going to be before the cats).
Do i need to go in for a custom tune? I know there is a CAI option, is there anything in there that i could modify my self for those cutouts and gears, or would it be pointless? I figured there might be something to adjust now that its going to be just straight flow out of the stock headers, and new gears.

i don't think you need a custom just yet, give the pcm some time to adjust for the modifications and if you're worried do a datalog and look for knock. but i've run open cutout, CAI on canned tuning and it was fine. but just to be safe i think you should datalog

Well I put the CAI on, went to re-program it for the 91 CAI Tune, and well its no longer there on the menu... or am i missing it?
I can definitally tell that the truck is slower now considering the pcm hasnt adjusted it self yet to the CAI, how long should I give the pcm? Or could some one tell me what to adjust on the pred. for it.

I loaded up the 93 Octane tune with 91 Octane gas in it...
It runs bad ass, but I wanted to make sure it didnt knock.
Watch and Recorded, only Knocked once in 30 mintes (1.50).
Not a big deal? Or do i need to program the degrees.

i wouldn't adjust anything for the CAI, i would drive it for a few hundred miles and let the pcm learn it. with the 93 octane tune and 91 gas be on the listen for ping or start running 93 octane. that small amount of knock you recorded is okay though but after the tune settles you might not be so safe

hello,
just recieved my predator today and i am wondering if i need to adjust my first tune for the reasons that i have added shorty headers and a magnaflow cat back-exhaust as well as a K&N CAI with a working shaker hood that feeds the K&N with plenty of air.? Or should i just do a pre-set tune and see what transpires??

Well this is my first post, I have a 06 quad cab 4*4 with the hemi. I have installed the 91oct preset. any suggestions to what i can tweak that you guys that have had u7137 for a while would recommend? Also what tune works the best to get the best MPG's and what tune gives the most power? Thanks

i am using the 93 tune currently and getting close to the 400 miles mark on one tank of gas and i don't think that's happened in all the years i have owned the truck
