3 Tuning Questions

When running a tune for 91 octane, what happens if you are forced to use 87 octane and can't re-tune. Does the knock spark retard take care of it or are you asking for trouble?

Which of the tunes included on Predator would be best for E85 fuel? Since the octane rating of E85 is higher I am thinking that the "Diablo Tune" would be the one to use.

Does the DsLogRedux software work with E85 fuel?

#1 - you'll be fine as long as you don't go WOT... the timing is increased in the WOT areas, so try to stay out of it...

#2 - yeah, use the Diablo Tune... but if you're going to run E85 regularly, you should get a custom E85 tune, since AFR for E85 is different than regular gasoline...

contact Andrew at dynotuneusa.com for a custom E85 tune:

Call 605-753-1101 or email [email protected]

#3 - no... gasoline only... as mentioned in #2 above, E85 has a different stoich AFR value than regular gas... that's why Grumpy and myself listed on the dslogredux site - "* At this time, this application only supports GM-Gas (non-E85) log files extracted from Predator tuners"...

I took your advice and now have a 195 mph E85 tune coming to go with the 195 mph Speed tune you sent me. :D

The 195 mph E85 tune from Andrew has been extremely effective. I got this speeding ticket that the Judge threw out because a pickup truck can’t go that fast. Yes, there must have been a problem with the radar on the Highway Patrol cruiser. :o

Really? And 195mph with an engine that is suitable for use with the U7194? Where do I get a tune that will give me 195 mph?

195 mph is the name of the tune, not the actual top speed.......

That makes sense. Still sounds as if it is an assume tune!
