Good News About The Predator

Post by broadfca »

:) I'm so sorry that so many are having problems with their DSP. On behalf of Diablo Sport.... I just want to say that I have been running the canned tunes for about a year now and have not had even one negative issue . I recently updated to 9r21 without a hitch. I did have to update the pcm for the 9r21, but all went very smoothly.

I just want DS to know that there are many of us that are having no problems with the predator. However, appararently there are many lagitmennt issues out there and I'm sure DS is working very hard to resolve them.

I can certainly understand the frustration of buying a product that doesn't work as expected, we've all been there at one time or another.

The guys at DS have a very difficult and complicated task. When we do have issues whith their products, it's very important to post up as you are doing. They do need our feedback to improve the tool. Just please try not to get frusrerated or bad mouth the product.

I assure you that when they work out the bugs for your vehicles, you will be MORE than satisfied with your performance gains and the array of features available with this tool.

Signed,

I would like to agree with the above well reasoned comments. The Predator is a fantastic tool which has completely changed my appreciation of my car. I really feel I am driving a different vehicle than the one I purchased off the lot!

I loaded the 9r21 93 octane tune onto my car without a single problem. I deleted MDS and reset the TCM. That's all I want to do right now. Everything worked - and works - without a single flaw.

So well done DS for making an incredible product. Yes, you do have a difficult and complicated task, but should any problems arise the support here is first class.

Remember the golden rule to always return your car back to stock before taking it to the dealer or updating the Predator.

Not always possible. My truck won't run on a stock tune. When I dropped off the truclk last Tuesday, I left the tune on, and the Trinity on the back seat.

Of course, its not your normal dealer. Its one with their own Performance Department, dyno, CMR tuner, & racecar.

Mike, Is it really necessary to return the car to the stock tune before updating the tool?

I had the 91 cai tune in the car when I updated. I did not return my car to stock tune before updating the tool to 9r21. I just updated the tool, went to install in the car and it said I needed to update the pcm. So, I went back to my pc and downloaded that update, installed in the car and then it accepted the new 9r21. It all seems to be working fine. Is it possible I have screwed something up?
Thanks

Not sure that really happened....if it was locked to your PCM, it would not have asked you to do a calibration update.

YES, it is imperative that you restore the stock tune before updating the Predator.

We didn't used to have to return it to stock. I used to update the tuner without it. Then some sort of code was added so now we have to. :(

Just because it used to work, does not mean it was a good idea.... ;)
