2005 6.0 update- which version has proven best?

Post by mfstucki »

I have a 05 f-350 ccab dually I use as a daily driver and occasionaly pull trailers of 15-20k lbs. I reviewed the notes for updates and noticed "you can't go back" type wording. I've had issues pulling loads in the past- seems like transmission is stuttering, loud intake noise, overheating. These issues come to surface when pulling heavy loads up hills or in trafic passing in ATL. This is particularly concerning when hauling a load of cattle thru the hills with no cell service in the middle of nowhere.
I understand Ford is having issues with the engine mfg. on head bolts etc.
My main objective is increased HP/Torque/fuel economy with out damaging
my $50k king ranch or ending up stranded with a load of cattle.

Please advise.

We tow last year our mobil dyno with trailer that weigths around 13k lbs with a 06 kingranch with the 65hp tune and i did some off the driving my self and it had more power that i needed es[ecially up the mountains i would had to keep my foot off it, never had a problem with it, with this 6.0 engines is a hit and miss issued , we have a 03 that had to put studs in it and had left us in the side off the road with ICP regulator and pump problems as well injectors, never know what can happen and yes you can always go back to stock with our predator , hopes this helps you out...
