whos been back to dealer?

Post by tdub09 »

ive got an 09 gmc and i kno that when you go back to dealer you put the factory tune on and they say you'll be fine, however ive seen where some did that and they said GM seen where the computer was changed even tho the stock tune is on, so my question is whos been and had warranty work done after putting a diablo on? im freaking bc i have some looks like oil around the back of my motor where the tranny bolts up but it where there i guess you could call it a plate, its a round silver piece with holes on the side at the very center of it on the housing, im hoping that its not a rear main seal leaking!! its not alot but theres like a drop or two on it, its not leaking on the ground but its there and im freakn out right now.... any info i appreciate!!

if you do it via OPTIONS > TROUBLESHOOTING > RESTORE ORIGINAL BACKUP, you will have no issues man...

they can tell if the actual ECM is swapped with a different one, like people do - they'll keep the stock ECM, and then buy another ECM to put a tune on... then when you swap back the original ECM, the dealer can tell, because certain info won't match up to other info stored on other modules in the car...

but if you use the same stock ECM and just do the restore original backup, there's no worries...

here's my addition to the pot... GM only worries about after market calibrations on Duramax trucks 99.999999% of the time. So just don't worry about it.

Just took my 2008 chevy 5.3 in last week and they saw traces of the predator!! They denied my warranty work and threatened to void my entire 100K warranty. I took the programmer out before i took it in, and they called me an hour later saying they know i have a programmer and if corporate GM sees it they will void my whole warranty. I have heard that these traces are only left in 07 and up computers. Good luck.

Hmmm... in your story, you say "I hollowed out the cats and deleted the rear o2 sensors."...

how did you disable/delete the rear O2 sensors?? because the predator doesn't let you do that for your 08 truck....

and, as others said in that thread... they were bs'ing you man - trying to get info out of you, and they did...

when you "took the programmer off the truck", how did you do it -- did you install the Factory HP Tune?

wow i read your link second line after you badmouthed diablosport you get all pi$$ed off because GM "almost" voided your warranty on a truck that has:
ported heads
cam/pushrods/springs
gears/tires
headers
a stall converter
ported heads
lift and tires

i don't know where to start with you dude!

if you do those kind of mods to your truck why should GM have to back up the parts and stuff that wasn't theres?

i bet as you drove your truck to the dealership on your stock tune with all your mods and the dashboard all lit up like a Christmas tree because of the mil and abs lights on that didn't tip them off.

if you are going to do those kind of mods to your truck why are you worrying about your warranty?

YOU SIR ARE A DUMB A$$!

(sorry moderators but this guy shouldn't be allowed to use our worlds precious oxygen)

I better leave now before I get more pissed off...
