All,
I tried to program my 05 silverado (5.3l) from the 87 octane to the performance tune and it bricked (no ignition firing) the PCM. First I got a script error, then a VIN error, and finally a question about the Ignition being on.
I had it towed to my local Chevy dealer to have it reflashed and they told me that the power module is locked and that they can't reflash it. They have to order a 790$ new module from the factory to get my truck to run again.
I was expecting to get a failsafe product and maybe that was unrealistic but I never thought that by trying to add a few HP I would be 1000$ in the hole (cost to fix + programmer).
If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know. Once I get the programmer back (in the truck @ dealership), I'll be expecting an RMA.

790$ mistake
I spoke to Mike and he said to have the dealer reflash the PCM as though it was just taken out of the box rather than trying to update the calibration. He also offered that if the dealer couldn't do it, to pull it and send it to them Diablo and they'll reflash it and get it back to me.
Starting to feel better about this (certainly about the 790$) but will keep everyone updated.

Yeah, definitely do not let them replace the PCM.....it can be reprogrammed, and shouldn't cost more that one hours labor.

Status of RMA
Hey Guys,
I can't seem to get a response from the RMA department. I tried twice on Tuesday and 5 times today and I just keep getting Vmail. I really really really need my PCM back so I have working truck this weekend.
I've emailed Abby, PK, Brian, and Mike and haven't gotten a response. I sent this over night so it would be there Monday assuming that I could get it sent back out that day and have it for Tuesday. I never thought I would be in danger of not having my truck for the weekend. I'm running out of people to bum rides off.
Please just give me a status update. If you need another day, then it is what it is, I just want to know what is going on.
