Convert MAP OBD-II Into a Boost figure

Post by SRTorRed6sp »

I'm using a synthesized boost gauge and want to be able to convert the MAP reading in a log to a PSI figure. If it shows 22.19 what would that be in PSI of boost?

I think you take the MAP and subtract atmospheric pressure (14.7psi) to get boost pressure. So 22.19-14.7=7.49psi of boost, or slightly more then 0.5bar (1 bar= 14.5psi).

That would put me real close to what I should have and makes sense. Thanks.

the synthesized pid is simply MAP minus baro.
Log both of them and you'll see...
