Hello Everybody ,
You will have to excuse my ignorance , I just received my new Diablosport Predator today via UPS ground and have looked through the instruction manual that came with the programmer . This is the 1st programmer I've ever owned and after looking through the installation manual and seeing several warnings , I need a little support . I'm installing my predator on my 2000 Ford F250 Super Duty pick-up that is equipped with the old 7.3L Powerstroke turbo diesel engine . Are there any precautions that I need to be aware of before plugging in my programmer to my truck for the 1st time ? I sure don't want to screw anything up !!! The only thing stopping me right now and it's 9:45 P.M. where I live from going out and plugging my Predator into my truck's computer is , ....am I going to be on pins and needles during the installation process or is it a piece of cake to install ? My truck by the way is totally stock , I'd appreciate any feedback on this topic , thanks very much ,

Best way I can describe it........Plug it into the OBD-II port, then start asking yourself questions......."what do I want to do" Depending on the model it may say, Performance Tuning/Performance/Program or something along those lines. Then select the tune you wish to run, each tune should have a brief description of what it is designed for and what it will do. Choose the tune you want then simply follow the instructions on the screen. Simple...........

Installing tunes is very simple; just follow on-screen prompts.
There are a few things you should do to support the tuning:
1. Get gauges!! EGT will definitely run higher, and if you're towing, they climb FAST! Don't want to melt that 7.3!!
2. Open up intake and exhaust to help it breathe. K&N tend not to seal well and could take a toll on your turbo; AFE is good, many others too. 4" turbo back exhaust will help.

Thanks for all of your helpful support and information , it's very much appreciated ! As far as gauges what do I need ? I bought my predator primarily to be able to have a program mode that I could switch to whenever er pull our 5th wheel RV to Colorado in the summer . What else should I invest in to safely be able to do this ?

EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) and Transmission Temperature (since you're pulling a Fifth wheel) gauges at a minimum. Triple gauge A-pillar mount, add a boost gauge.pied_piper15 wrote:Thanks for all of your helpful support and information , it's very much appreciated ! As far as gauges what do I need ? To answer your other question the extreme will probably set you some good mileage, most people see the best in the extreme. The economy is really there for towing and thats about it. High mileage trucks may want to loook towards the 85 as its a bit less aggressive however not many people care and have had great success with running the extreme tune all the time
