How much is too much

Post by wallyg33 »

I've been tuning my 05 GTO with the Diablo factory tune by changing the parameters. I've leaned the fuel to -7% thru all the ranges and have increased the spark by + 10% thru all rpms. The car is running great but I'm afraid to go any further. Am I going too far? Anybody have any suggestions? I'm trying to get my 0-60 ft. times at the track to under 2 sec.

the "factory" tune only makes adjustments to the current tune that's in the car. so if you haven't installed any of the Diablo tunes, you're only making adjustments to the stock/OEM tune that's in the car.

You'd get more/better performance by running the Diablo Tune (for 93 octane) or the 91 Octane tunes... those remove some torque management, adjust the air/fueling, add more spark/timing, etc etc - which will give you better/quicker throttle response, faster acceleration, etc etc...

do some logs and check for KR, and check your ltft's and get them dialed in correctly.

if you're not getting/showing any KR in your logs, then you're ok...

check the stickies for info on logging, adjusting to dial in the ltft's, etc etc...
