I have two u7194's. One I bought new a couple years back and the other used last year. My problem is I'm trying to get them to work on a 2010 Silverado. In order to do that I need the 9r14 revision. My u7194's are considered "old" hardware. I was told I need to sell them and buy "new" u7194 even though they are the same part numbers. Has anyone else had this problem yet if so what was the outcome? I don't think I should have to buy a 2nd programmer when I already own the right part number for my truck. I won't name any names but I haven't had this issue with other brand programmers when some of them go from 98-2010. Thats the reason I paid so much for these in the first place because they are upgradable. For those of us that buy new vehicle all of the time that is a very strong selling point ya know. Any comments or advise gladly welcomed. Thanks J

Yea same thing happened to me, have several units and the one I used on my 2007 escalade could not take the update for the 2010 trucks, it would get 90% thru and then kick out, the older units lack memory, so I had to sell that unit and buy a new unit with the same part number.

Did you try to contact DS or did you just buy another? I would think they would swap it out or upgrade it for free.

the one you bought last year is still under warranty... give a call to diablo and talk to mikel...
