Just bought a predator today and installed it into my 07 Avalanche LTZ 4x4. During setup it flashed service 4 wheel drive and service suspension along with stating park assist off and dinging continuously. anyways.... i put the standard diablo tune (no mods) in and drove it around the block. I wanted to make sure the 4x4 was not screwed up so i threw it into 4 high and started driving. i took my first turn and it sounded like the gears in front where not catching (because they werent) and grinding.
WTF happened? 4 wheel drive worked perfectly fine before.
I did get the towing option for my truck with a 4:10 gear and transmission cooler. Does this have something to do with the diablo setup? I'm freaking out right now and I want to take it to the dealer to get it checked out. I put the factory tune back on the car and it is still doing it. Please help!!!
if i do take this back to Chevy, is there any chance they can tell that i put a tuner on it? i re-installed the factory tune on it and i am going to play dumb and say what is a programmer if they ask. I am the 2nd owner of the truck. Only mods i have is a CAI.
thanks,
c

RE: u7194 Avalanche problems
Hello Cmot,
In wich 4x4 mode did you put it? the tranny cooler and 4:10 doenst seems the problem.
Did you abort the instalment of the tune? Or did you let it finish? because during the tuning mode all the notifications in the dice go off. So you can see 4wd service or suspension service. those are normal during an instal! Are they comming up after instal go back to stock. And see if they are still here. if they do take it back to the dealer and play dumb
If you switch to 4wd auto it could be that they doent engage 4wd because your surface is not slippery and such so you can hear the mechanichs a bit since there are on stand by.
If you put it in 4wd hi. and you hear it its can be because its engaged and your not on slippery surface like tarmac and the joints are rubbing. This is not good for the 4wd.
It could also be while tuning that you may hear it as stated in the user manual. that the 4wd auto and hi and lo because the front dif has differant turning of the axle then the rear axle so they are working against eachoter when engaged on dry surface.
Hope this helps!
Good luck! You can alsways take it back to the dealer off course!
