Enough is enough

Post by mxhunter147 »

I bought the predator for my 06 cummins in January. I've called multiple times and all I get is some guy tellin me the tune should be out In the next couple weeks. Well after 3 months, I've lost faith and I'm sending it back to where I bought it to get a smarty before I wait so long that I can't and Im stuck with this worthless plastic box.

Im in the same boat. I bought this Trinity about 4 months ago and it hasnt worked right since the day i got it. This is by far the worst tech support i have ever received from a company. I cant get a refund on the p.o.s, cant use it because it wont work right, and cant sell it because i dont want to give my problems to someone else!

I would guess he thinks the support is so bad because Diablosport customers have been waiting a minimum of 2.5 months for an update to their tuner while the competition has had the new calid supported for some time now. Smarty just got another satisfied customer today. Maybe I can find a suc...er mean an individual to buy my going on 3 month worthless blue box.

basically, their trucks were reflashed by their dodge dealer, and now the predator/trinity doesnt work anymore because the new software is currently not supported. DiabloSport has to decode and reverse engineer the new OEM software and then make a new update, test it, and then put it live for all to download as needed to their tool. Until then patience and bitching is the only solution for a customer.

First I'd like to say I've ran the Predator and it has some great power, I still run the Puc with my current stack. My comments are not a shot but only an observation. But I have also run the Tripledog and now the Smarty and there has never been any issues like this with either box. It seems someone needs to back up and have a look at the issues at hand and tackle those. I remember seeing a post some time ago here stating that the programmers were stretched thin because they were working on the new stuff. Well I believe if it wasn't for the sales of the older programmers, it might not have been possible to create the new stuff. People just can't afford to run out and buy the latest and the greatest, we need to work with what we have. My $.02

Wasting your breath here. This has been the same type of customer service issues with Diablosport from day one. If not this issue, its the surging in the cold weather, surging on cruise control, running like a big block with a heavy lift/duration racing cam, etc. Guys like Mikel and Johan really care and try hard but corporate has made the decision that new product development and gaining new customers is more important than those who already bought the product. The only thing to do is suck it up, buy another competitors product, and go beyond NEVER recommending Diablosport products, I tell everyone NOT to buy their products period. Until they are willing to go the extra mile to address issues, they aren't worth the plastic they come in.

I have the Predator on my 05 6spd and noticed the same surging while cruising and the big cam lope. My truck has 114,000 miles and hasn't been touched by the dealer. Is there an update or custom program to address the drivability? I have to say, I'm not impressed with the Predator as much as I was with the Edge EZ I had on my 03 w/ auto.

as much as I hate that companies keep making new stuff and never get back to old stuff, it is the way of the beast. Whether its a software program I purchased or a programmer for me truck.

Thing is not all trucks do all the symptoms. my truck runs like crap on high idle in the winter, but runs totally great any other time. Have no issues with cruise either, runs smooth. it has bucked going down hill but did that on stock tune as well.

Just saying I don't think it is a simple as we would like to believe to fix it all, but wish they would try again. I really hate the high idle thing.
