u7158 on my 2000 Ford lightning Losing faith
Well so far I've not had much/any success with the predator. The first one I recieved from vendor still had someone elses locked copy on it, Then got my current u7158 for my 2000 Lightning, at rev. 9r02. it made copy of orig. then I dwnloaded performance tune, modified stock tune (I had problem of high rpm idle and posting P1000 code) So I adj. rpm's, reloaded, cleared codes, completed succesfully, started....still idles at 1000+rpms,surging up to @1500, and still shows P1000, tried to perform the "driving cycle" a couple of times,+ driving 2 tanks of gas thru it. Same O Same O. Tried to do some data logging, Data viewer doesn't support u7158, Updated new CROM revision, reloaded, Same O Same O ....getting a bit frustrated with the results so far. Don't know which way to go with this, maybe just return it and be done with it. So far its been like an expensive, crappy hand held video game that doesn't work.

Did you have idling issues before the tuner?
Do the problems go away after you restore the stock tune?
I cant tell if you say you modified the stock tune or the performance tune?
What mods on the truck?

RE: u7158 on my 2000 Ford lightning Losing faith
the idle was maybe a bit higher than I'd like before tune, truck is new to me @3 mo.s, I have replaced the intercooler with a ford recall kit, it has not been modified that I can see,i.e. stock intake, exhaust, eaton, the only mod I've done is put on an oil seperator (that mounts into the filler spout on pass.side vc) I'll put the stock (original) tune back in without changing the idle to see if there's any diff. but I tried it before with no chg. about the P1000 code and how to clear, should I just keep trying to get the driving cycle completed? In the instructions for doing the drv cycl it says you need the ford scan tool, but the tips I've found say you don't need, then says to clear all DTC's/perform a PCM reset? then it bypasses eng.soak timer, resets OBDIImonitor status. then it says to monitor the following PIDs:ECT,EVAPDC,FLI AND TP MODE. Is this something I can do with the live data logging on my Predator? after the drive cyc. completion it says to access the Obd2 monitor status function on scan tool to see if all non-continuos monitors have completed? any ideas on how to do this? Any help/info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
