First timer questions

Firstly, forgive my stupid questions. I'm sure they were answered somewhere but for the life of me I cannot find the answers. So here goes.

I followed the tutorial videos on Getting Started with the Trinity and installed the drivers/DS downloader onto my computer and then pluged in the Trinity via USB as instructed. All went well until I got up to the part that you plug the Trinity into the OBD port on your vehicle.

During the video it said the Trinity would save a backup of your original factory settings but I'm unsure if it did this or not. I received a "Saving Backup" screen but then there was no verification or further instruction, the trinity simply went to the main menu. How can I be sure the original backup was properly saved?

In running specific tunes such as 93 or 91 do I need to use that type of gas as well? What happened is I use standard 87 octane while running a 93 tune? Also, can I install a 93 Tune on the vehicle while it already is full with 91 or 87 Octane or should I fuel it with the appropiate fuel type PRIOR to installing such a tune?

I read somewhere that you should never operate the Trinity while the vehicle ignition is turned on, but then that really doesn't make any sense if you want to run the virutal dragstrip. So if I plug the Trinity into the ODB2 port can I still run the vehicle or is there something else I don't know about?

Can I leave the tuner attached to the Vehicle via the OBD port during general use or should I always remove the device after any modifications have been completed? If I have to remove the device, what's the point of the dash mount?

I have a Ram Air hood with functional Ram Air kit, how would I modify the tune as such?

As I said forgive the stupid questions. This is my first time using such a device and I want to ensure I fully understand it before I make any changes to my vehicle.
