2008 F250 Super Duty 5.4L- No power- Transmission hunts

Post by bagger09 »

1. U7155 2. 9r03.crom 3. 2008 F250 Super Duty Lariat

Installed 87 tune notice very little difference than stock tune.

There is no power and transmission will hunt take for ever to shift.

When I pull my 18 foot toy hauler takes forever to get up to speed on interstate 70 mph and for get keeping it there. Trans will constantly shift and engine rpm's will go to 4500 to 5000 truck wont move. There are trucks just like mine pulling bigger trailers and passing me by like I was stopped. When you kick it down to passing gear just keeps shifting up and down between 2 gears.

So is there a tune for my truck that will give me max HP and torgue along with better a firmer shifts without the hunting.

I have never had reports of issues like this with any super duty applications....does the truck throw any trouble codes?

There are no trouble codes. It is equipped with the ZF smart shift transmission. Not so smart sometimes.

What should I set the MPH shift points and RPM shift points at? Or is there a better tune for my application.

Talking to the dealership here in Ft Myers the transmission is suppose to go through a learning process when you pull a trailer. That is only for 500 miles, which is suppose to get you the best fuel economy. Talking to the ZF trans shop they say problem could be the tune I installed. Don't know if this has any relavence but in the tuner it only shows shift points up to 4th speed and I have a 5 speed trans. Also I have installed a spacer plate for throttle body and put true dual exhuast.

Other thing when I first got tuner and installed would not work in my truck had the wrong program in it. I had to reprogram from your site.
