7198- out of memory

Post by musclebound »

I'm getting the out of memory error and from what i read so far, i need to re-install the stock tune before i can update the controller. i bought the truck with the supercharger and tune already installed. I'm new to this predator thing so here goes a stupid question... how do i back up the current tune if i can't download anything?

I just uploaded a 10:32 log from my U7198 to the 3.3 version of DV, noprob.

How many PIDs did you record?

have you tried a new log to see if it will upload?

Can't remember off hand how many PID's i recorded (only selected a few), but I've tried running different logs- some shorter some longer... with the same result.

I had the same problem with my 7198 in trying to get the cruise log data downloaded to my computer. The predator showed "out of memory" the first time, and the second time I had no problems. The difference was that I took a long time to hook up my predator to my computer the first time (4-5 days), and the second time I actually took my laptop with me in the vehicle and everything downloaded the way it should, try it out.

I had that prob today when loggin. I had to set it back to stock tune then redo the tunning stuff then log again. Then it worked.

Haven't had time to mess with the truck, but as was brought up in another thread, use the tuner as a pass thru for the lap top. I don't want to loose the current tune since I really don't know what was done. So I figured if I at least had a baseline of the current tune before i started to delete and modify things, I should be safe.
