why wont my u7194 take the 9r15 crom? i think i had the 9r08q crom last on here. it worked fine. i just bought a different cable usb to serial and wanted to try it out. so i was going to upgrade to the 9r15 crom.

im using ds downloader 2.2.1.7. it shows on ds downloader screen that its sending the crom to the predator. after its done... it says successful then it says to wait for the tool to reboot. so i click ok and let it sit. well 10 minutes later and its still not rebooting on its own. so i unplug it and start it back up and on the predator screen it boots up like normal but instead of going to the main screen it pops up and says " crom u7194-v.9r15.
Incompatible hardware. (no serial flash found) contact tech support."
im using this pred on a '08 chev 5.3 4x4. the sticker on the back of the pred says U8000. dont know whats wrong.

k... you have one of the older models of the 7194 predator that can not accept the newer, larger crom revision update files...

also, since your vehicle is an 08, there's no reason for you to update... there is nothing new for your truck... the newer revision updates are just to add support for newer 09 and 2010 vehicles....

update the predator back to the 9r08 crom revision....

well you know this really sucks. cause if i buy a 2010 truck which my pred is suppose to work on with the 9r15 crom... i cant use it. just because it doesnt have enough memory!? that is bs. tcm support wouldnt work at all then. way to big. would diablo upgrade my pred for free with one that has more memory? or send a chip to replace? not cool.

they dont care or wont upgrade for free. i think we all have to start complaining more here and at other places, maybe BBB will help u out?

well i cant get onto the ftp site you gave me. it must be down or something. i tried emailing support but weekends must be no one around.

the 9r10 version worked for me. pred took it. seems too boot fine. so all should be good now. thanks for the older crom... mike.
