I am getting ready to install Kooks Longtube heaters and HF Cats on my L99 Camaro. I have already installed an Airaid CAI , CB Cat back exhaust and running the Diablo Tune from the Predator I purchased. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

After the long tubes ae installed you will need to put maybe 50 to 100 miles on and then do a cruise log to see where the long term fuel trims are at. They will probably be somewhat positive (lean), then adjust the trims accordingly to achieve between 0 and -2. You also can expect to start throwing codes like cat efficiency and shifted lean accompanied by a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. You'll need a tuner, someone like 06monteSS AKA Lew, to do a custom tune to permanently correct this issue.

Thanks. I have a Predator Tuner. The code issue is what I am worried about. Will the lack of efficiency causing the codes damage my engine if I drive it? I mean beyond the 100 miles or so to log?

Urgggggh... the dreaded CEL.... 06monteSS- Would you mind putting a tune together to get rid of it for me? I saw on previous posts that it was requested for the original backup tune and the last written to be uploaded so I thought I would go ahead and load them up. I appreciate all your input. The header install is starting in just a few minutes. Tired of seeing them sitting in the living room. not doing me much good there.lol. Tool: U7194 v.9r15. Thanks.

Headers are installed and I have driven it 65 miles. As predicted, the CEL is on. I am going to start data logging tomorrow in order to adjust the LTFT. Thanks to Diablo and this forum all this is actually enjoyable instead of overwhelming. Once the CEL is tuned out all apprehensions will be gone. Thanks again.

06MonteSS.... you are the man!! Thanks for your expertise. Car is running smooth, strong and efficient (averaged 24 mpg on long road trip that took me on both interstate and city roads). I was very impressed with the combination of Airaid CAI, Kooks LT headers, HF Cats, recently installed 3in Magnaflow Competition Cat Back and your tune on my track runs tonight. 8.0 1/8th time.
To anyone looking at upgrading and in need of a custom tune.... 06MonteSS is priced just right to get the most out of the upgrades.
