lower octane

I have a 2001 2500 HD with a 8.1 and just bought the preditor for it. I thought that I could choose between Octane levels but found out I could not. Can you tell me what I can do to run lower than 91 Octane in it. People are telling me that I can get a custom tune from you all that will allow me to do that if so please tell me what to do.

You can either send the Predator to us and we can update it, the latest rev have 93 oct and 87oct tunes in them, or you can send me your original backup using the pc interface on the U7198 downloads page and i can make you a custom tune.

thanks a lot But it will be a few days because I had to send my programer back because when I recived it it would not work. Another question is there any charge for doing that? Thanks for your help!

There would be no charge for an update or a tune for that.

I did not. I sent it to concours direct that is who I bought it from. But when it gets back I will be contacting you for help on a tune thanks for taking the time to answer my questions I know it is your job but a lot of people these days just give you short answers and try to get rid of you. So thanks again!

I have recived my preditor and it does have the 87 octaine tune in it already.But I was wondering how to tell if it is up to date and if there were any updates for it. It's a u7198 on a 2001 2500 HD 8.1 Allison.

Well, if you just got it back and it now has 87 octane tunes on it, then it must have been updated.
The revision is displayed on the top line of the Predators main screen. The latest revision is 2.13 for the U7198.

I also had question on my speedo it says there are two ways to reset it tire size and acual tire hight but my preditor only has the Tire size option and that would not be a problem except in seting it that way it is still off some thanks

Sometimes you need to play with the tire sizes a bit as the sizes listed on the tire themselves rarely correlate to the actual size of the tire.
Try telling the PCM that the tire is slightly taller or shorter by altering the aspect ratio by a few %.

I was considering ordering a Diablo for my 02 2500HD/8.1L/Allison. What kind of results should I expect? Truth be told, the most frustrating thing about the truck is how the thing 'manages' the power. A truck with an engine that big should lay down four black stripes whenever I choose. Thanks

Well, for starters, you will have the ability to remove TM, which seems to be your biggest complaint.
The tunes provided will add 15-20 rwhp on your 8.1.
