2005 Magnum Hemi-rough idle and shifting

Post by eestubbs104 »

I just installed the Diablo predator pre-tune on my 2005 Dodge Magnum Hemi. The online revision updated my predator to U7135-9r23b.crom. The pretune I installed was the Performance for CAI 91 octane.

After I followed the directions and complete the install, my car's idle, became very rough, even though the tach stayed constant. My car now actually shakes while idling and the shifting is very rough to the point where I do not feel comfortable driving.

Any help or suggestions?

Disconnect the battery for a few minutes then reconnect it. This is a very common problem on early 05 Hemis.

Okay Mike, today is Friday and I have already gone back to my stock program last night (just make sure I could get to work today), but as soon as I get home this evening, I will reload the Performance Tune, than disconnect the battery for a minute and than reconnect it. Hopefully that will work. Thank you for your response. :D

Okay, Mr. Levy (and I say that out of respect). I got home this afternoon and I re-installed the Performance Tune CAI 91 octane. After the completion, I did what you suggested and disconnected the battery. I left it that way for a view minutes (not sure why), but when I reconnected the battery and started my Dodge Hemi, WOW, she purred as smooth as a kitten. She idle the way I want her to and when I drove her, I was wondering now if the program even loaded (but I know it did) because I didn't get any of the problems I had when I originally installed the tune. Well to make a long story short, thank you very much for your response, your help and your suggestion. I am up and running and running smoothly :D . Thanks again. Sincerely, Ed Stubbs[/code]

You're welcome. Thats what I expected. Its the MDS problem with the early 05s. You just need to reset the computer by pulling the cables and everything works fine afterwards.

Thanks again Mike, I really appreciated your support. I will let you know in about 8 weeks if I need your help again when I upgrade my exhaust system with a new cat back exhaust. :D

I have a 2005 magnum r/t. I just bought it 3 days ago. When I am sitting at a light it shakes. But my RPM needle dosen't move hi or low, it looks normal. I asked the dealership whats wrong with it but they said it is normal with hemi engines. I say b"bullshit". Is this the same problem you experienced, if so what did you do to correct it?
