What is the difference: Predator Custom Tune VS Personal Tune
I am curious what the personal tuners do that I can't do through a custom tune?
Personal tuners:
-replace TCM & ECM modules
-tune Trans (predator don't)
-What else predator don't? which parameters?
I read this: http://diablosport.com/index.php?name=P ... opic&t=917
What is the major thing they tune that's not mentioned in the above post by 06MonteSS?

Not sure what they can't tune besides the tranny...I just got a diablew tune and I believe he uses CMR software, which changes things like efilive does...hope this helps!

Getting a custom tune done by a diablosport CMR tuner (like myself) gets you more performance gain than just you creating a modified tune via the predator handheld unit.
the CMR tuning software is like efilive/hptuners - so we (CMR tuners) have access to EVERYTHING in a tuning file, not just certain parameters that are available to end-users via the predator interface. And as such, we are able to adjust many many many more things, and get thing dialed in more accurately, instead of just being able to apply changes to a wide range.
there are 100's and 100's of parameters available in a tune file, so you can see by the adjustable parameters you have available to you in the predator, while it is a lot compared to all other handhelds, and is enough for most users with minimal bolt-on mods, it still doesn't begin to reach the tip of the iceberg as to what can be done in the tune file with a custom tune.
while you will notice gains with the canned tunes and some minor adjustments on your end, you will gain even more with a custom tune - even quicker throttle response, acceleration, stronger/harder pull, and usually even better mileage too...

RE: What is the difference: Predator Custom Tune VS Personal
Also, I see in other forums end users dropping predator and going for BB for example, and claiming day and night difference!, is it only because of the TCM support? and why do BB and others tune only through replacement modules.
When will the TCM support be available?
I assume a custom tune needs logging, but the predators can only log so much?
Thanks

If you have a laptop you can datalog for as long as you need...I believe tcm support is coming very soon...the predator makes it so you don't have to replace pcm modules,it just reflashes like a dealer does. not sure why people would rather use bb,since cmr software is very thorough
