which selection for performance tune for AFE CAI?

Post by steve_ashcroft »

I have an 08 mustang 4.6l v-8 that i have a U7145 tuner v.9r03. I have added an AFE CAI. I do not see that make/model as an option when adding the option of a CAI. Which one would i select for an AFE CAI?

If the cold air kit you have on your vehicle is not supported then you will need to purchase a custom tune. You can contact us via the link in the signature below and we can help.

Thanks for the info but is it ok to select one of the other availble options of CAI on the tuner to achieve the same results.Just wondering but in regards to CAI and what their function is are they not all similar in function and results? for example just selecting the Airraid option on my tuner???

Each intake has its own specific airflow. If you load the wrong intake calibration, the car will be either lean or rich and obviously not optimized. The calibrations on the newer vehicles are all airflow based, when airflow changes, the computer has to be "told" is was changed, and what it was changed to. If it is not correct, poor idle/driveability/performance and engine "failsafe" mode are just a few examples of what can and most likely will happen.

Thanks Tuningss for the info. When will the tuningsuperstore website be up so can get info on purchasing a custome tune ect as i am also considering exhaust mods ie: catted x-pipe and short headers so i am assuming would be needed or a good idea to have a custom tune for those mod's as well.Is it neccesary to make adjustment for change in tire size also or is that more centered towards the BCM than the PCM.
