2010 Camaro won't start ;(
Sorry, this is long:
Ok, I keep the data cable plugged in the ODB port for my Trinity, however, I do not drive with the Trinity plugged in unless I'm taking logs, tuning, etc.
Today, i went out to take another data log after installing Lew's tune. All went well, no issues. Unplugged the Trinity and went about my day - no issues.
After lunch, got in the car, nothing...all electrical seemed fine, won't start. I try several times, nothing. Call OnStar and they dispatch a tow truck. in between, i start to panic since I have a tune in and don't have the Trinity to put back the original, so I at least remove the cable and put it in the glove box.
I try to start the car again, and presto, it starts fine! Driving home, I see the CEl on, so when I get home, I plug the cable back in, plug in the Trinity, turn the key ON (not started) and go to read the Diagnostic code. The Trinity keeps telling me to turn on the ignition but not start the car! Nothing, can't read it!
So, i decide to call OnStar to have them read the code. She tells me to start the car. Ok, I try - NOTHING! So, I unplug the data cord, and presto, car starts.
2 error codes: Fuel Pump Control module & Control module communication bus errors.
So, I'm thinking that something is wrong with the data cable, even though there's power to start the Trinity, even the Trinity can't read the data bus.
New cable? Should I also send back the Trinity?
Thanks...
Michael J.

RE: 2010 Camaro won
I had same Problems today, after first time connected the trinity.
Fist it seemed to work, but then
nearly a heart-attack!!!
Trinity says no PCM, no VIN, no connection and "turn ignition to on"
and car didn´t start (no reaction, Even in the DIC Mileage, Temp and all informations (Except Tire Pressure) showed -------),
even after unplugging Cable an Trinity.
But after 30 Minutes No more Errors in DIC , car worked .
and Trinity also worked again
Codes that were Found:
PO69E, UO109, UO121, UO140
Could it be the Cable??
Im afraid of having trouble again
P.S.: sorry for the bad english, i´m one of the few Camaro SS owners from Germany

Re: RE: 2010 Camaro won
Thank´s, but shipping from Europe would be the last step in my opinion.mikel wrote:Odd, lets rma the unit so we can test it here if possible.
so what can i test or try myself??
I read in some other thread of Monte SS he had same trouble with a pinched
cable and some other guys changed the OBD-cable to a "fixed" one ??
An OBD-cable is possible to get here as well.
is it important to pull the On-Star fuse or stuff like that?
Even while monitoring and changing gauges?
OnStar is installed, but not available in Europe.
I will do next try on Wednesday
RE: Re: RE: 2010 Camaro won
yeah, but I didn't have THOSE problems that you do... heh.. my pinched cable just caused my dash lights/warnings to go crazy, because of the way I had the cable routed, it was getting pinched between the dash and the A-pillar...
you have a different issue...
no need for you to pull the onstar fuse... but if you have anything aftermarket installed, you need to pull the fuses for it / disable it.. . like an aftermarket stereo, subs, amps, satellite radio, nav, etc... anything aftermarket has to be disabled...

Just for installing a tune or all the time when Trinity is connected ( monitoring, logging ) ??06MonteSS wrote: but if you have anything aftermarket installed, you need to pull the fuses for it / disable it.. . like an aftermarket stereo, subs, amps, satellite radio, nav, etc... anything aftermarket has to be disabled...

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: 2010 Camaro won
Hey guys!
i figured out the Problems!!!
when i go to the loggin menue, while engine is off but key is turned to on,
and then try to change gauges, trinity asks to start the engine, and then car doesn´t start,
after cancelling everything is fine.
Going to Logging menue while engine is running is no problem.
Last time i first tried "proceed" and then disconnected the trinity, and after that i had trouble and to wait a few minutes.
Is there a posibility to change gauges without running the engine???
Is there a list which sendors i can display with my Camaro 1SS(noRS) ??
But i´m happy it seemes to work with no trouble, my fear has gone.

no... needs to be running so the trinity knows what sensors a vehicle has available to report/log...

Question Gauge for MPG
Hi Diablos,
1. is there a posibility to show the actual / live / instant MPG on the Trinity ???
2. is it posible to change dragstrip 0-60 mph to 0-100 km/h ?
Thanks!
even after the 1t08ae Update in June´11 i still had problems.
Once the Engine stopped at 60mph .
then i ordered a new cable in august´11 ,did a solid mount to avoid loose cable, and no Problems anymore. more than 6 Month now
