Help adjusting PE on WOT.

Post by hamrdwn »

I just ran a WOT run through DSLogRedux v6.3.1 and it told me to adjust the low range by -8 and the high by -10. With the three different ranges in the Preditor what would I do with the middle range? I looked at the data and the middle range is no where near the 12.5-12.8 range. Another interesting item was the TKSR only registered when I initially hit the throttle and at the shifts. I am running the 93 octane performance tune with 87 octane gas. (My wife accidentally filled it up with 87 the other day). Would I increase the timing to gain more power at WOT. I have attached the log file for all to see.

If anyone was wondering why I had to pedal on the first WOT run the tires broke loose on the on ramp. Kind of exciting at 75 MPH!

First 87 fuel for a 93 tune, you should be seeing knock, but with that said tipin knock is normal to a point, ingore for now!
Next as I run thru your log it first and foremost indicates that your trims LTFT are at -4.38 and -4.45 suggesting a +3 adjustment. If this is the case these trims must be dialed in correctly first.
Next you PE adjustments: Low rpm range -7, Mid rpm range -9, High rpm range-11 (before you do these adjustments confirm your LTFT`s on a cruise first)
Only one thing to say about my "Diablew" Tune!

I would dare say that the only way you could not experience KR running 87 octane fuel in an engine tuned for 93 octane is that the ECM already discovered the low octane fuel prior to the logged run and has shifted the timing to match the low octane table.

KR during initial pedal romping and during shifts is normal...

however, I would NOT be "getting on it" going WOT with only 87 octane gas in there on the diablo 93 tune... that's asking for issues... you probably had more KR than what you think too...

and, the timing in the diablo 93 tune is already jacked up higher then stock timing settings... so do NOT increase it even more, especially only on 87 octane gas???? timing is already too high for only 87 octane gas, and you want to add more????
