LS1 VIN - LS6 engine

Post by 01Z_ »

I have a 2001 Camaro Z28 with an LS6 engine.

Will the U7198 have any problem with this? In other words, does the Predator install a tune according to what it detects from the VIN within the PCM?

I ask because my old programmer saw the LS1 from the VIN within the PCM and would not install a proper tune. Before I buy the Predator I need to have an answer to this question. It's apparent that I'm ignorant but hope to be enlightened soon. Thanks!

The Predator will install a tune based on the LS1, but the tunes fro the LS6 are very similar.
The LS1 tune will work fine, and you can always use the Predators adjustable parameters to dial in the tune further if you desire.

Thanks Mikel. I'm ordering the Predator today. How can I find out the cost of a custom tune? Is there a link with a price schedule or should I just call?

I can provide some data as I have wideband matched to rpm. Can you or anyone guide me on what I need to do to get things going to tune my engine? I don't know enough at this time to get started. :?

thanks again.
