2007 6.0L Gas Z-71 Max Silverado Custom Tune

Post by reredrider »

I am a 46 yr old kid and it was harder for me to figure out how to load the stuff needed than anything else. I know it is very simple to do but I have used a manual type writer before. Some are going HUH whats that?
Ok on to the good stuff. As some know the Silverado's are held back greatly off the line, the power is there it just needs to be unleashed. The "Lew Tune" as I call it that I recieved is worth it. After a tweak or two to the Custom tune, the truck came alive. I drove it for a couple days and had not tested the off the line launch, im not sure why but I must be getting old. One night I stopped in the road down from the house, looked around for the "one" Po Po that works out here and then just slammed it to the floor. I have brand new, one week old, 33" Nitto Terra Grappler All Terrain Tires on and to my surprise they Lit up and the RPM's held screaming around 4500. The traction control was blinking and the tires still left a beautiful posi traction mark about 35 foot long. The 6.0L gas motor will keep you smashed back in the seat up 113mph. I had to let out because the speed rating on the tires is 112 and there was a curve coming up, oh and the smell in the truck that didnt come from a cow told me I needed to get home real quick...I am putting a Vararam cold air on real soon to let her breathe better. Get a Custom Tune and a new 3 pack of Haines Briefs should do it. I am saving my last pair of briefs for the Cold air test...any input on the Vararam Cold Air System? Thanks Greg

Heck ya you"ll like the vararam! The best intake period! I noticed a sweeet difference when I put my vr-6 on...that was before I got my predator...a 2500hd long bed I could break the rear end loose with a bed full of mahogany,4 people, and all our chainsaws etc...!

Thanks, I have heard some junk posted about them but the way it pulls from the outside air, as the others are contained under the hood, it has to work somewhat better and the faster you go well the more air hits it. I know the throttle body can only pull so much but better more cooler air than not enough. I have seen some dino results and it looks good. Any more feed back on the Vararam, anybody?
