9r02 was the last revision for that tool...
what revision is yours on?
when it powers up and it at the main menu, the revision number is at the top of the screen...

Prolific driver for Windows 7
I'm trying to update my Diablo Predator U7158
I am using a USB to serial adapter cable.
I was told by Diablo support to download and install the PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v110.exe
Well after MANY (OVER 10+) failed attempts at trying to install the
PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v110.exe from this website.
I finally gave up!
i called the Diablo support folks again and they walked me through another 10 tries and it still failed to install!.
I was told to keep trying it should install after a few more tries.
Turn your computer off and back on.
Put your right index finger in your left nostril. Stand on your right leg and hop counter clockwise.
Now "Hold the phone up to your monitor so I can see what your doing."
(OK, just kidding - help desk humor)
My tool = Rev 7r
USB to Serial cable
OS Windows 7 64 bit
I understand this prolific serial to usb driver is needed BEFORE you can do the tool update.
Anyway, I found and used a different driver and it installed and worked the very FIRST time!

Fast, simple, quick, easy and it worked the first time!
After the driver installed the tool upgrade to revision to lightning-8r10.crom took 2 minutes!
This forum is about predator owners helping other predator owners that is why I posted this.
Hopefully this will help other folks so they will not have to go through the grief I did to get it to work.
I worked for me this first time I used it. It updated with 2 clicks. Hopefully it will also work for you.

The link is to a 32 bit driver.
My OS is Windows 7 64 bit
I worked perfectly.
