Mike / Johan-
(I have a 2005 Pontiac GTO, with your U7191 Predator)
A while ago I spoke to Mike about the fact that I was getting headers put on my LS2, and was concerned I may trip a SES light running the 8r06 Predator tune. You said I could download my Factory Backup Tune to my PC, send it to you, and that you could make adjustments to my tune for the headers and such.
Well, I have yet to be able to pull my factory tune off of the Predator, and onto my PC. Every time I try, the DSDownloader pulls the data from the Predator, but when it gets to the point where it asks where I want to save the file, hit ok, the program crashes and nothing gets saved. (prompts to send crash results to Microsoft or not) I have tried this on 2 different profiles on my PC, and even on another PC. Same result. It always crashes at that same point. Windows XP/SP2 in both cases.
Well, the headers are on, and while installing them, I had to remove the spark plugs... and discovered they are white-ish -- burning lean. I have run the Predator tune since I bought it when you 1st released it last year. No other "performance" mods. The data-viewer works on my PC, and from what I can tell from the logs I've done, there is some slight knock at weird times.
I would REALLY appreciate some help getting my stock tune onto my PC, so I can send it to you and determine why its making my car run lean/knock... and make adjustments for them.
Please let me know what to do here. BTW, Mike, I IM'd you on LS2GTO.COM regarding this question, so please feel free to answer one or the other.
thanks
marc

I dont want to steal the glory here but in order for you to transfer original/custom tunes you must use the E40 Interface software which is different than the DSDL software. DSDL is only used for updating the Operating Software .crom files. In the future DSDL will be used to transfer files but for now the E40 interface is used. http://diablosport.com/downloads/predat ... taller.exe
This is where you can download the software.

Yes, Mike L. is the man. Top Shelf customer support, as always.
Hopefully the log I sent him will reveal the source of the lean condition and or knock...
He did mention that GTOs stock tune has a tendency to cause knock. So I am by no means blaming anything on the Predator!
I was just having problems d/loading my original backup via the DSdownloader. Now we know why!
Using the E40 interface thingy is not rocket science, once you have a couple simple directions. I was able to d/load my original backup and email that to Mike too....
thanks again guys, look forward to your findings, and getting the custom tune for my application....

PS.... eager for Halo3, Johan?
