Do I need to modify the tune??

I have an S&B CAI from RPMoutlet.com with the predator as a kit. loaded the truck with the 87 K&N tune as a default(no S&B option). Did I pick the right one? Should I modify the peramiters? I just want to make sure the engine is getting everything it needs to run correctly through the rpm range at both part and full throtle.

BTW. Just got my pred back from you guys after my online update fiasco. truck took the tune and fired right up. Had a few problems with this thing but you all were always there for me. Performance ain't cheap but customer service is priceless, Thank you.

Unfortunately, we don't have any canned tunes specifically for that brand of CAI, so it will be something of a matter of trial and error with different canned tunes to see where you get the best results. You could also have a custom tune written by one of our CMR dealers to optimize it.

Cold-air kits generally lean out the air/fuel mixture, so logging the vehicle to determine if you need to add fuel (as an adjustment from the regular tune for a stock intake) would be a safe way of adjusting it yourself, since you would be adding fuel to compensate.

Thanks for the tip Mike. So here's what I did. retuned it with the Airraid 87 tune(it's the closest "looking" to my S&B). Added 10% to the MAF, plus 1deg of global spark (mid-grade gas in El paso is 88 not 89 oct.), plus 5% WOT fuel 2-4k and plus 7.5% at 4-7k. Now the LTFT's are -3 to 5 at both WOT and crusing at @ 2000rpm. STFT read that at cruise as well BUT are at 23 to 27% at WOT. is that O.K. or Should I take the WOT fuel back out? I think I almost got this sucker dialed in. Just need a little more advise. Thanks

Sorry i didn't get back with you sooner.

You're working in the right direction, but you should definitely be adding fuel at WOT if your STFT's are that high. Until you get the fueling where you want it don't advance the spark any further.
