why dose my old ladies 07 upplander van with 3900 series v6 get off the line so much better than a v8 truck this is sad

from standing start her van will spin the tires and get up to speed faster
My truck reg cab short bed lags until about 10-15 MPH

I guess what im trying to figure out is if I have to get a custom tune or dose a V6 really have more power than the V8 (our shift points are about the same within 2-3 MPH)

Gearing is the difference, not power....

dont listen to them bout gears. u need efilive to shutdown the torque management. thats why u cant launch. even if u change gears the computer will still kick in. the 4.8 is a good strong engine.

LMAO at these suggestions.

tourque management, small torque converter collectively kill it .. on top of the 4.8 lacking low end torque. so many options though.

cheapest and easiest .. hit LEW up for a custom tune, turn off TM.. bump your line pressure in your trans a bit to help the shifting efficiency, and if that doesnt do it for you, make a call to EDGE racing and get a real converter in there. they build custom units for almost half the price of yank or PI.. and handle lots of power.

get it handled. lots of options ;)
