Can the predator do anything that will act like an Exhaust Brake? I have a 2005 with an automatic. I know some tuners can do it on a ford, just wondering about the Dodge. Thanks

ive seen what your talking about on the fords. some people wire a switch up to turn it on. but you cant do it on a cummins tho. fords lifters are actuated by oil pressure instead of push rods like the cummins. its more like a jake brake then an exhaust brake where instead of blocking off the exhuast and putting a bunch of back pressure on the engine it opens the exhuast valves when the pistons gets close to top dead center. its hard on the engine tho because of valve float.

Depending on which engine your talking about, fords do it by closing a plate in the outlet of the turbo. They were designed to create backpressure to warm the engine up quicker in very cold conditions since diesels don't run well when its cold. Dodge doesn't have anything in the exhaust to do this.

And no ford that I'm aware of has the capability of holding open the valves. They still have pushrods. Maybe your thinking of the injectors? They run off of high pressure oil instead of fuel.
