for those of you (like me) who are new to the Preadator and probably had driver issues in windows 7 (I have 64bit Pro) with your USB to serial cable. Don't waist time trying to find a driver, I know computers very well. USB drivers can be very dificult to find and that is if they even exist. Save yourselves some time and frustration and go to Radio Shack and purchase a GIGAWARE 6ft. USB-A to Serial Cable. I believe the part number is 26-949. Install the Vista driver and you should be up and running. Hope I could help.

so basically you are saying that i cant use the cable that came with my predator on my Win 7 laptop?

it would work on mine. I'm running Win 7 Pro 64bit. I couldn't find any usable drivers for it.
The Vista drivers my work on Win 7 32 bit version. I was able to get it to work on one of my XP machines, but no luck with 7 64.
