I can't get the program to open and I have windows 7. I change the compatibility mode to every option and no luck. Is there a fix? Thanks

I tried running as adminstrator beforehand based on the forum and help guide and still no luck. I keep getting the message, "Application has generated an exception that could not be handled." I also did a repair of the installation and no luck. I was able to open dataviewer and ds downloader with no problem. Any other ideas?

Put the downloaded program on your desktop, REMOVE the copy you installed, REBOOT the computer and allow to stabilize.
Now RIGHT CLICK on the program icon on your desktop and select RUN as ADMINISTRATOR. Then after the install reboot and try the program from the start menu first and if is ok, then use from the shortcut. If neither work, try to right click on it from the start menu and run as administrator from there.

Still doesn't work on my pc after i tried your instructions, however I just tried it on my laptop and it works. Thanks for the help and any other ideas would be helpful since I rather work on my pc. Thanks

Ok, try this on your PC,
CLICK start>all programs>accessories, Right click the command prompt and run as administrator (a smaller black window will open), in there type: sfc /scannow and hit enter, sit back and let it run its course at the end it will either ask you to hit any key to exit or if not just type exit and hit enter. Now reboot and go to windows update and be sure all updates are complied with. now reboot again and follow the previous instructions I recommended again.
