Trinity Problems

Hi all!
This is my first time posting here. :) I've been having a lot of problems with my Trinity and thought I'd ask for help. I have a 2006 Grand Prix GXP and a 2007 Silverado. From the get-go, my Trinity would freeze when backing up a stock file or uploading a tune. It happens everytime I use it. So, after it freezes, I unplug it and reboot it. The screen prompts that the tune didn't get loaded successfully and it tries to upload the stock tune. It usually freezes half a dozen times before it finally loads the stock tune. I've done both vehicles and have the same problem everytime. It's happened from day one. I even got a different cable to try. I have the latest version of the tool and dsdownloader. I wonder if my Trinity isn't bad. Any ideas?

Thanks!
Tom

Yes, I can vouch for this issue Mike... I spent hours on the phone with him this weekend trying to get the thing working correctly... everything was done correctly, etc etc... and no matter what, his trinity still did this every single time... we tried it on both of his vehicles, and the same thing... and yes, the correct vehicle was selected/changed before trying it on his different vehicles...

he even has two of the trinity obd cables for it, and we tried both of them to rule out a bad cable, and nada... still did the same stuff...

k.. after further collaboration, it's been decided that it's gotta be a defective tool... so :

you need to contact the place you purchased it from and get it swapped out for a new one... they should with no problem, since it's defective...

Tom, I really wish you had sent the cable with the Trinity.

So far, I have tested it on the bench with a GM PCM and in our F150 and it is working perfectly.....

I'll keep banging away at it.

then when you send it back to him, send him that cable you're using with it

I didn't think it'd be a cable issue, because I have two separate cables for it, and have tried and used them both, and the trinity acted the same way with either cable... wouldn't think I had TWO defective cables... so, I figured it had to be the trinity itself...

Hmm...not looking that way on my end.

We'll see how it turn out after some more testing.

cool... and then send it back with that cable you're using... that will for sure rule out a cable issue...
