2005 GTO-Glowing header

Post by ja55nc »

I have a 2005 GTO with CAI, longtube headers, no cats, stage I Livernois cam. I loaded the 455 Bobcat tune from my predator. It runs good, I have not driven it yet but I did notice the #5 cylinder header tube glowing red with the lights out. I dont want to drive it until I resolve the issue to get a data log. Does anyone have any advise to eliminate this? I know it is from exhaust burning in the header fom being too rich. What parameters on the handheld should I make to correct this? I have run data at idle and my ltft is at 0.00% but the air ratio is at 14.75. I know I need to make adjustments but I dont want to drive the car until the problem is resolved. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

the AFR will always be 14.7 at idle and part-throttle, that's the normal stoich value... and is correct...

you need to do a steady drive/cruise on the highway and do a data log... with your rpms around 1800-2000... find out what your average ltft's (long term fuel trims) are at, and then adjust your injector slope accordingly, to get them to be at around 0 to -2...

here's info:
