87 Up vs 91 Up Tune

Post by SilverHemi09 »

What is the difference between the 87 Tune and 91 Tune?
I just installed my Predator U7137 and saw some gains once I get out of 2nd, I have an 09' Dodge 5.7L Hemi 1500.

Timiing is typically the only difference in the canned octane tunes.

and ya shouldn't really be running or using only 87 octane gas in that vehicle anyway... 91 octane minimum...

I'm running 89, I'm going to go to the 93 Octane I was just a little bit excited yesterday and had 3/4 tank left so I was just burning it up. I installed the 89 tune last night. But just wanted to know if there is a difference. I do have an issue though when I at about 50 and the tranny goes into the next gear it feels like it looses revs and the exhaust makes a sound like possibly back pressure???? not sure how to explain.

It should lose revs. Every higher gear should have you at lower revs then the previous one. Thats how a transmission works.

You need to be VERY sure that you are only using the tune that reflects the type of fuel in your gas tank...

bad things will happen if you do not comply.
No, i don't work here.

Log your st and lt and you will see that with the canned tunes you get lots of part throttle kr with the canned tunes and it doesnt matter what fuel you run then go back to stock and no problem they still havent done nothing to fixe the problems and its been well over a year thier useless go with the superchip no headeach.

I don't know what kind of fuel you are drinking, but that is certainly not my experience.

I'm running the 93CAI tune, no kr out of the ordinary, and the tuner makes a significant difference from stock.

Sounds like either you have a bad unit, bad engine or piss gas.

From what I've seen of the superchip, besides making less HP, it has few features.... which could mean less headache for someone unable to read the directions.

Did you add a catch can as suggested? These Hemis are prone to suck oil.... oil doesn't burn so well.
