Extreme Power Puck 2002 Cat 3126

Post by fizbancor »

Hi,
I'm installing the M2010 extreme power puck on my 02 CAT 3126. I hooked everything up correctly according to the instructions I found on bullydog (had a bit of trouble deciphering the manual). When I turn the key it gives a check engine light. I checked the continuity of both connectors and they have continuity on two of the tree wire. Wanted to see if you knew what the issue may be.

Thanks, Stephen

I have been told it is possible to plug these connectors in upside down on the CAT applications, may be something to check first.

Just to check, I was looking at the modules for different engines. I see that the 98-2000 3126 uses the M2000 module. The 98-05 C7 uses the M2010 module. Since the C7 is basically a newer 3126 I assumed that my 02 3126 would use the M2010, do you know if this assumption is correct. Otherwise, that may be the problem, as I don't know what the changes are between the two different models.

As far as upside down, it does not seem possible, as they are keyed for only one way to be inserted and they are triangular. At least that is the way it seems. Thanks, Stephen

This is the response I got from one of our Puck Engineers:

make sure he uses the wire colors on his factory wire harness as a reference to the connectors he will need to plug into. I would ask him to start the engine and see if the check engine light goes away or remains on. If he is getting the check engine light all the time it would usually show that the harness is either not connected to the correct location or a break in the harness. The CATs are the easiest to connect wrong. These connectors are used for several different sensors on the motor and most people will plug into the first ones they see.

Hi, I'll need to try and hook it back up and start it up tomorrow. As far as I can tell, I am hooking it up to the two connectors that are identified in this picture and they are the correct two. I also assumed that the connector on the end should connect to the ICP sensor, do you know if that is correct? What is the time limit for a RMA? Thanks, Stephen

No time limit for rma, you can send it in anytime within the 2 year warranty.
