2011 6.2 Chevy Crewcab Max tow package.

Post by leadfart »

I'm expecting delivery on my Trinity tomorrow. Just a quick question or two. :) Will I have to modify the canned tunes for 3.73 gears, and tire size, which is 265-70-17?

Also, will my remote start be affected?

Not my first rodeo. 8) I have custom tunes on my stroked 95 Impala SS, and HP tuners on my 08 Caddy STS-V. I didn't tune them, I just race them! :P

TIA, looking forward to playing with it.

if your remote start is not factory, then you will need to pull the fuse for it / disconnect it... anything aftermarket has to be disabled...

you will need to update the trinity to the latest GM_CAN_GAS revision update so that it has the 2011 vehicle support before you go to use it on the truck...

and if your gears and tire size are not factory sizes, then yes, you will have to modify the tune...

The remote start is factory, gears and tire size are factory. Just wanting to get my all my i's dotted, before I mess with it. From what I've been reading on here, some folks have been having trouble with 2011 stuff.

Thanks

ok.. then you don't need to do anything with the tune...

just update the trinity to the latest gm_can_gas revision update first, so that it has 2011 vehicle support...

then install one of the performance tunes to the truck...

Update, I installed my Trinity today. It didn't install the Diablo tune on the first try, but went fine on second try. 8) I used the tune for a 2011 6.2 GMC Sierra. Drove it with the stock Diable tune, and then modified it for speed limiter. No problems with either tune, after several test drives.

It definitely feels much, much hotter. I also had previously installed a Gale Banks cold air, and I replaced the factory muffler with a SpinTech truck, RV, big block muffer.

It now sounds and feels like a 400+ engine! :D

is it hard to tune the vehicle? I would love to make my truck run faster but consumes lesser fuel does changing the dimensions of the tyre would make it more fuel efficient?

^the tunes in themselves make the engine run more efficiently, that's how we're able to get the power we get.

It's not hard at all to install a tune. It takes maybe 5 minutes and it walks you through the process right ion the screen of the tool.
No, i don't work here.
