Found predator in foreclosed house, how to tell if locked?

So I was sifting through some junk in this house we bought, and I spotted a scan tool. I took a closer look at it was a predator for 2007 and up GM trucks. A U7194 to be exact.

I've read how they will be locked if the original tune isn't put back to the scanner. I plugged it into my Honda for power, and it seems to go through every menu option just fine. Of course, when I went to apply anything it said something that was related to it being the wrong vehicle.

How can I tell if this will actually work on one of the vehicles it was made for?

THanks,
Dan

Check "Last Tune Written". Don't remember which menu its in. If its unlocked it will say "Original Backup".

It says 87 Octane Tune, does that mean it's a paperweight?

That means it needs to be unlocked to use it, $129 for the unlock.
